I COULD NOT HAVE SHOWN MY FACE DOWN THE HIGH STREET IF I HAD WALKED AWAY FROM QUEENS

The recent reports that Queens manager Ian McCall has pledged his future with the Doonhamers is tremendous news for all concerned. Ian was so impressed with the recent away support at Hamilton and Dundee that he has decided his future is with Queens. He was also heard to comment that he could not have shown his face down the High Street in Dumfries if he had walked away from Palmerston.

His influence on the team is now beginning to reap dividends and although we are still not out of the woods yet, I remain optimistic that we can catch Stranraer and avoid the dreaded play-offs. He has a relaxed but firm style of management which was much in evidence last evening during the reserve fixture against Albion Rovers. Queens latest sensation Michael Mullen had just scored from a free-kick and looked towards his boss for some sort reaction -The reply was " Well done Michael but you should have scored four previously ! "

The game against Brechin on Saturday is of huge importance for McCall and with Stranraer facing another difficult away fixture we could be within touching distance of the Stair Park side by Saturday evening. I feel that the Cleyholer's resources are beginning to run out and we now have the momentum. Ian will have Queens well prepared for the Brechin game and with the tremendous backing of the fans I see no reason why we can't celebrate a resounding win.
