QUEENS CHAIRMAN FACES STIFF OPPOSTION AS HE SEEKS RE-ELECTION

Word has reached QOS MAD that Queens chairman Ronnie Bradford may face some oppostion when he seeks re-election at the AGM due to be held in the Nith Hotel on 13th November. Despite the club's recent success, it seems certain factions are unhappy with the club's financial state and Mr. Bradford's position as Chairman is under threat. The facts are that Queens made a £88,535 trading loss last year and if the previous year's deficit of £23,960 is added then the overall deficit is £112.495. This trading loss can obviously be attributed to a bigger wage bill in our push for promotion. To be fair Mr. Bradford did warn the shareholders last year that there would be a loss for this financial year. In addition to this deficit ,Mr K Houliston and Mr NG Blount are owed £25,000 and £199,270 respectively. It is perhaps not generally known but Mr. Bradford has gifted something like £30,000 of his own money to the club in the past and one wonders if any incoming chairman is willing to make the same investment. As attendances are now averaging above 2,000 and with the extra revenue gained from the Challenge Cup,I would expect the balance sheet to be a bit healthier next year.
I personally have every confidence in Mr Bradford and he will get my vote at the AGM next wednesday. QOS Footy Mad will be there and a full report on the proceedings will appear on this site on Thursday morning.
