ROCK BOTTOM ALLOA HEAD FOR PALMERSTON ON SATURDAY

Last updated : 06 December 2002 By Duke Of Galloway
Rock bottom Alloa who are holding up Divsion 1 at present, are Queens opponents at Palmerston on Saturday and on paper it looks like an easy three points for the Doonhamers. However I would suggest that Queens tread very carefully as Alloa will be in no mood to surrender three points and they will be looking for a possible lifeline to avoid relegation. One worrying aspect of Queens recent displays has been their failure to kill off teams when in a strong position. Against Arbroath last Saturday Queens had their opponents almost dead and buried but somehow we scraped through with a narrow victory. Our strikers must really start putting their chances away at this level. Hopefully this will happen on Saturday against Alloa who have been leaking goals on a regular basis although they managed to stop the rot against Ross County last week. Saturday's game is an ideal opportunity to put some fresh air between ourselves and our rivals. Queens have no injury worries and the reliable Anderson will no doubt return in defence. I will expect a tense, tough encounter with Queens probably shading it. It will also be interesting to see what sort of crowd we get tomorrow considering the lure of Christmas shopping.
