MIDS AND NEWTON SHARE POINTS

MID ANNDANDALE moved back to the top of the South League despite only drawing 4-4 with rivals Newton Stewart. Mids threw away a 4-1 interval lead built up by a Darren Cowan 20 yarder, a Chris Norvel header and two from Nathan Muir and Allie Sloan. Jason Gallagher got Newton's goal after only 10 minutes.

In the second half Newton dominated with Sean Taylor and Andy McEwan hitting two in the first 20 minutes and then Steven Beggs scoring a great equaliser from 30 yards in the 81st minute.

DALBEATTIE STAR kept their unbeaten record with a 4-0 win over Creetown. Jamie Phillips put them ahead with a 25-yarder in the 24th minute with Scott Milligan heading the second six minutes after the interval. Then Phillips made it 3-0 in 53 minutes and a minute from time Leslie shot low into the net from six yards.

In the other league matches FLEET STAR Davie McKie routed Abbey Vale as he hit all four goals in their 4-0 win and Stranraer sneaked a 2-1 win over Heston Rovers with a stoppage time goal - a repeat of last week's match at Stair Park.

In the Cree Lodge Cup semi-finals St CUTHBERT WANDERERS cruised through 4-0 against Wigtown and the Threave Rovers v Crichton game was abandoned before it started after player trouble.
