SUPER JOE IN POOL FOR CUP-TIE AT METHIL

SUPER JOE IS BACK
Queens head for Methil on Saturday on Cup business and add Joe McAlpine along with Willie Gibson to a strong pool of players which should prove too strong for East Fife despite their excellent win at Berwick on Saturday. A good run in the cup is important to Queens financially and I expect there will be a few goals with the usual vociferous Doonhamers travelling support playing their part and let's hope the Drummer Boy is allowed in with his drum. Other News from Palmy is that Derek Lyle has signed a loan deal with Stirling Albion until the end of the season. This should be a good deal for him with the probable option to sign with Albion but he is still a Queens player and I somehow don't think we have heard the last of him. He in my opinion has been extremely unfortunate with the injury coming at the wrong time but such is the fierce competition for places in the side that no one is guaranteed a game. Defender Derek Allen who is on the lookout for a new club has suffered a setback by receiving a nasty injury in training which could keep him out for several weeks and delay his move to another club.
